Singing for the elderly

Yesterday Brendan's class took a quick trip to Crystal Manor to entertain the old people for a bit.  When we arrived there was no one in sight, so the kids had to wait VERY patiently for their audience to come from their rooms.  The kids did a great job.

What a great way for the younger generation to minister to am older generation.

Connor's 1st Field Trip

Last Week Thursday, Connor and I went to Frederick Meijer Garden for his first field trip as a preschooler.  What a fun time.  The kids learn all about leaves - colors, shapes, touch, touch and much more.  And of course we had to visit the turtles in the basement, plus play in the Great Lakes.  Connor had a blast!!!!

My favorite part was this huge, but adorable flowers out front, I think they are part of Art Prize.

Jump for Joy

The other night when Brendan had soccer practice I took the twins and my camera and we had a little photo shoot.  I got a couple good shoots to use for the 1st grade picture that the grandmas need and then I let them have a little fun.  I love these pictures and I would love them even more if the twins were in focus and not the barn.  So to all my photography friends who are out there reading my blog, what did I do wrong?  Is there a special trick I need to know to get those amazing action shoots.  please help!!!!

Monday nights for the next 5 weeks

There are so many new things that Connor is starting this year, and I'm beginning to learn that he is no longer my baby.  He's growing up and starting to do all the things that his brothers are doing and one of those things is AYSO soccer.  Seeing how Connor and the other kids on his team don't really know too much about soccer they are learning things like dribbling the ball down the field, kicking the ball into the goal and many other basics of the game.

Connor loved the first part of the practice, but when they actually got to playing the game against another game, he decided it wasn't fun anymore...he wanted HIS ball.  Luckly for us, he wasn't the only boys who had a meltdown.  Hopefully next week will go better.

Mike and Connor having a heart to heart before the game.

Mr Z talked to the boys before they started practice.

trying to be organized

A while back I came across this blog and found this and immediately downloaded it. I am always looking for ways to improved how organized my life and the lives of my five boys. It has only gotten that much busier now that school starts...trying to juggle their school schedules, soccer schedules, church events and just life in general.  I am hoping this will help me just a little.

Finally, the day he has been patiently waiting for

Connor has been patiently waiting for this day to come for more than a year.  It was finally he turn to go to school.  He was so excited at home, even asked to have me pack him a lunch in his new Toy Story 3 lunch box he insisted he needed to have. Once we were at school, he suddenly became quite shy and didn't want to go into the class room, but finally after he found his locker we headed into the classroom for some fun.
