Surgery

We finally had enough with the ear infections, so today we went to Metro Health for tubes.
Connor hanging out and watching some cartoons before surgery.

He didn't really like having this thing on his toe.

This is our kid on drugs. LOL
After surgery, Connor was not a happy camper. I didn't realize how strong he was...he wanted nothing to do with me or Mike. He just wanted to leave.
A few hours later, he was happy again and wanted to have his pictures taken.
Mike and I are so thankful that everything went well today, and hopefully this will be the end of ear infections...at least for Connor.

Meet Aly

We added to the family. I finally got some more girl power in this house. This is Aly (Brendan picked the name.) She is 6 week old Husky/Black lab mix, and so cute!!!

Aly

She adored Connor and Connor loves her. She follows him wherever he goes. and when she can, she licks his face and he thinks it's funny and doesn't seem to mind one bit.

And then there's the twins. Last night, they liked her, but she was scared and timid. This morning after church she was a bit more lively and Lucas cried everytime she came by him. Austin would jump on top of a chair when she tried coming by him. What is up with these two???? How do I get them to like dogs???? She's only a puppy...everyone loves puppies, right?

Mike loves her too!!!! After Jackson went missing about a week ago, Mike started looking for a puppy to replace him. When we found her on Craig's List yesterday, we couldn't resist.
"Talk to the Paw"

she already has an attitude. LOL

Starbucks "The Way I See It #292"

Today I was at Meijers, and treated myself to a Starbucks coffee. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed every last drop of it. While I was drinking I checked out what was written on the cup. It was good enough to blog about.

"The way we get to live forever is
through memories stored in the
hearts and souls of those whose
lives we touch. That's our soul print.
It's our comfort, our emotional nourishment
at the end of the day and the end of a life.
How wonderful that they are called up
at will and savored randomly.
It seems to me we should spend
our lives in a conscious state
of creating these meaningful moments
that live on. Memories matter."
~Leeza Gibsons.

This is so true. with just recently losing my g-pa and g-ma Geerlings, it comforting to look back on the memories that I had with both of my grandparents; times I will cherish and never forget. I want my family and friends to have the same kind of memories of me some day. Just something to ponder.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to take my nephew's pictures. He will soon be one!!! I can't believe he's that old already...and boy, is he a busy one. He didn't want to sit still for anything. Here are a few of the pictures we captured.

Happy 1st Birthday, Dylan!!!!
